LIMERICK Marine Search and Rescue were called out on Tuesday evening to help other emergency services after reports that a body was seen in the water between the bridge at Barry’s Cross and the headrace at the Ardnacrusha power station.
A passer-by raised the alarm around 4.30pm and the Killaloe unit of the coastguard were tasked to go to the area. They were joined by the dive unit from the Limerick Marine Search and Rescue as well as the firebrigade and the Shannon Coast Guard helicopter.
