‘COME and Sing Carols’ in St Mary’s Cathedral this Saturday December 12 at 5.30pm. The promise made by the Cathedral’s Companions of Music is that carol singing is fun for all the family. Their invitation is to hear “many of the Christmas favourites – we hope to put you in the Christmas spirit!”

It’s a free event, of course, and ecumenical. One performing corps will be St Mary’s Prize Band under the direction of Derek Mulcahy, bringing us “a chance to hear this famous part of Limerick’s rich cultural heritage, of which we are justifiably proud. It is a great Limerick musical institution.

“We are also delighted to welcome as special guests the Limerick Choral Union, conducted by musical director Malcolm Green, with accompanist Stuart O’Sullivan. They will be performing a selection of choruses from Handel’s well loved Messiah, as well as helping to boost the singing with their rousing musicianship”.

P.S. There will be a retiring collection for Limerick City parish.
