An estimated 4% more passengers will make the journey home through Shannon for Christmas as 57,000 use the airport, starting at the weekend just gone.
ย
This is the third successive growth in Christmas passenger numbers at Shannon since it was made independent on New Yearโs Day 2013. This festive seasonโs throughput will be up 22% on Christmas 2012.

Welcoming the growth Shannon Airport CEO Neil Pakey said.ย โWeโve had a really busy start to the Christmas period.ย We expect passenger numbers to be up by 4% up on last yearโs figures, which speaks volumes for the range of air services, 35 destinations from and to 11 countries. These offer Irish passengers living abroad a range of options to return home to celebrate Christmas with their loved ones,โ he said.ย

โItโs a magical time to be at an airport to witness the joy of families reuniting at this special time of year.โ
