Michael Casey (32) of the Clonlong Halting Site in Southill is charged with two counts of theft and two counts of causing criminal damage at Mr O’Donoghue’s home in Doon and at another house in Kyle, Cappamore on the same day.

It is alleged that he stole jewellery, a watch and various amounts of cash from the homes.

It is further alleged that he caused almost โ‚ฌ400 in criminal damage to houses in Dromsalagh and Portnard in Cappamore on the same date.

Seeking that the case be marked peremptory against the State, Casey’s solicitor John O’Donovan said that this was of great concern to his client who was in custody since his arrest.

Judge Marian O’Leary refused the application and remandedย Michael Casey and his co-accused cousin David Casey (21) of Caragh Park, Coolock in Dublin, in continuing custody untilย January 19 next.
