Two poets present for On The Nail

THE bookish, poetic โ€˜On The Nailโ€™ first gathering of the year will take place on Tuesday January 10 at Shannon Rowing Club, Sarsfield Bridge at 8pm.

This monthโ€™s guests are author David Murphy and poet Kathryn Keane.

David Murphyโ€™s most recent book โ€˜Walking on Ripplesโ€™ was published by the Liffey Press in 2014 โ€“ his first book to feature non-fiction. Previous work includes a contemporary fantasy novella โ€˜Bird of Preyโ€™ (2011), โ€˜Arkon Chroniclesโ€™ (also a novella, 2003) and the novel โ€˜Longevity Cityโ€™ (2005). All were published in America.

His story collection โ€˜Lost Notesโ€™ was re-printed in Dublin in 2013 by Aeon Press.

Kathryn Keane is a Mary I student of English, History and Adulthood. Her poetry has previously appeared in โ€˜Silver Apples Magazineโ€™, the โ€˜NY Literary Magazineโ€™ and โ€˜Bitterzoet Magazineโ€™.

She was one of the first poets to perform poetry at Thoor Ballylee at the 2016 Tower Poetry Slam and has reached the final of the Munster heats for the All-Ireland Poetry Slam. The Stanza poetry group has published her works of prose and non-fiction, as with Face Up magazine.
