LABOUR TD Jan O’Sullivan has urged Limerick voters “to vote for a progressive, fair future”.

Speaking to supporters as Labour in Limerick organised its final big push, Minister O’Sullivan said, “The Labour Party is committed to delivering a progressive, fair future for the people of Limerick. We believe in a future where a recovering economy pays a dividend to every family – especially families on low and middle incomes.”

“In this election we have set out our vision for the next five years.  Among our priorities are: delivering the smallest class sizes in the history of the State; making quality, affordable childcare a reality for families; extending free GP care to all citizens, and reducing the tax burden on low and middle income families,” she explained.

Minister O’Sullivan went on to admit that this is the toughest election she’s ever fought.

“I’m fighting for the last seat in Limerick City. I am only the second women ever elected to represent the people of Limerick since the foundation of the State. It is a tremendous honour and privilege to fly the flag for Labour, for progressive politics and for women.

“Limerick is bouncing back. Unemployment is falling, jobs are being created and we now have the resources to invest in our schools, our health services and the environment. Now is not the time to put that progress at risk. I am asking for voters No. 1 vote on Friday for a fair and progressive future.”
