Public exhibition on flood alleviation scheme to be held in Limerick

Limerick-Flood-006ARUP JBA have been appointed by Limerick City and County Council to assess, develop and design an appropriate, cost-effective and sustainable flood alleviation scheme for King’s Island.

Verdant Place was identified for fast-tracked works which are being progressed in advance of the main scheme. The aim of this stage of the project will be to provide a flood alleviation scheme for the lowest lying area of the Island.

The Council will be lodging a Part VIII planning application for the Verdant Place Flood Alleviation Scheme, with the documents available to view in the Council Offices from Monday February 29.

A public exhibition will be held on Tuesday March 1 in the St Mary’s Community Centre, King’s Island. Residents, businesses and interested parties are invited to attend between 2pm and 6pm.
