Limerick’s winners on Winning Streak

-

The seventh show of the National Lottery’s WINNING STREAK TV GAMESHOW for 2016, presented by Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy, took place in RTÉ Studios last Saturday 5th March 2016. Five players from Meath, Limerick, Dublin and Carlow won prizes to the value of €197,000. The biggest winner on the night was Vivian Meachan from Co Limerick who won prizes to the value of €61,000.

Sixty-two year old Geraldine McMahon is from Limerick City. She is a housewife and has a full house every day thanks to her four children and five grandchildren, all of whom live nearby. Geraldine and her husband John will celebrate 43 years of marriage this June. They have two boys and two girls; Antoinette, 37, Tanya, 34, Dermot, 33 and Brian, 29. Geraldine is a big bingo fan and plays at least twice a week with her daughter-in-law, Lisa, who is married to her son, Brian. Geraldine missed her name being called out on Winning Streak as she was watching cartoons with her grandchildren. Her daughter-in-law, Ciara, rang to tell her the news.

This is the second time that Vivian Meacham has appeared on Winning Streak. She acted as a proxy for her mother Colette approximately eight years ago. Barrister Vivian celebrates her 40th birthday this month but is putting off any celebrations until her third baby is born in September. Vivian is originally from Cappaghmore in Co. Limerick but now lives in Dublin with her husband Stephen and their two children; Alex, who will celebrate his third birthday the day before his mother appears on Winning Streak, and Ruby who is ten months old. Vivian is a Barrister with MacDowell Purcell based in Dublin city centre. She lives near the Phoenix Park, where she spends a lot of time with her family. Vivian has three brothers, Ivan, Richard and David, who lives in Paris. Her father Norman buys Winning Streak tickets and randomly puts his children’s names on them. It just happened to be Vivian’s name this week.
