A LIMERICK man who threw a coke bottle at a judge after he was refused bail on charges of threatening to shoot a 13-year-old schoolboy is to face trial at the Circuit Court.
Clyde Keogh, (20) of Ballyclough Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston has been charged with robbery and attempted robbery at Canal Bank near Lee Estate and Athlunkard Street during what was described as a “20 minute violent crime spree” as children walked to school on January 25 last.
This Tuesday during a video link hearing from Limerick prison, he waved at the court as he agreed to a four week adjournment to allow for the preparation of a book of evidence.
He is charged with the robbery of a Samsung Galaxy 3 phone from a teenager and threatening to stab the victim at Athlunkard Street.
Other charges relate  to the robbery of an iPhone 4 from a 15-year-old boy at Canal Bank, Lee Estate, and an Xperia M2 Aqua phone from a 13 year-old boy at Athlunkard Street.
He is also alleged to have threatened to shoot the 13 year-old.
This Tuesday, Limerick District Court heard that the DPP has directed that he is to face trial on those charges as well as a charge of attempted robbery of a 15-year-old boy on Athlunkard Street where he is also alleged to have threatened to stab the boy.
Sergeant Donal Cronin said that the State could proceed with the case by way of trial on indictment and a four week adjournment was granted to allow for the service of a book of evidence.
Judge Mary Larkin remanded Keogh in continuing custody until June 14.
