THE Irish Youth Wind Ensemble, comprising 74 young musicians from all over Ireland, will perform an early evening repertoire at 6.30pm on Saturday August 20. This will take place at University Concert Hall. Ronan OโReilly will conduct.
Let this vibrant troupe whisk you on a musical journey from โFour Scottish Dancesโ by Sir Malcolm Arnold, โParis Sketchesโ by Martin Ellerby, โA Weekend In New Yorkโ by Philip Sparke, and more.
The ethos of the IYWE is to offer young wind, brass and percussion players an opportunity โto study, perform and experience music specifically composed for the wind ensemble medium. These young, emerging musicians get a chance to present music that otherwise would not be heard by Irish audiencesโ.
After intensive training together, Ensemble will produce this special programme to perform at CIT School of Music and at UCH this Summer.
Tickets available at uch.ie, or on the door on the evening of performance. Again, note the earlier time of 6.30pm on Saturday 20.
