CASTLECONNELLโ€™S 2016 Autumn Concert Series will begin on Tuesday August 30 at 8pm, returning again to the beauty of All Saints Church, across from Castle Oaks House Hotel.

RTE lyric FMโ€™s Liz Nolan will introduce the Moynihan Oโ€™Leary Duoโ€™s programme of โ€˜Shakespeare โ€“ Songs Rich and Strange!โ€™ sung by soprano Deirdre Moynihan accompanied by guitarist Alec Oโ€™Leary.

From Limerick Arts Office we hear that โ€˜Songs Rich and Strangeโ€™ presents songs from Shakespeareโ€™s plays and popular music from the life and times of The Bard (1564โ€“1616) not written by him.

Much of the programme includes settings of Shakespeareโ€™s plays along with songs that were directly referenced by characters in some works, including the ballad โ€˜Greensleevesโ€™ alluded to in โ€˜The Merry Wives of Windsorโ€™.
