THE 2016/17 All Ireland League kicks off this weekend with Limerickโs seven senior sides in action this Saturday afternoon.
Division 1A sees Garryowen and Young Munster both at home on the opening weekend. The Light Blues, shocked by Nenagh Ormond in the Munster senior cup last weekend will host Lansdowne, while Young Munster, now under the stewardship of Gearoid Prendergast, will entertain Old Belvedere at Tom Clifford Park.
In Division 1B, Shannon, fresh from their cup win over Sundayโs Well last weekend, will entertain Ballymena in Thomond Park, while Christy Neilan and George Murrayโs UL Bohemians will travel to Musgrave Park to play David Corkeryโs Dolphin.
With no Limerick clubs in Division 2A this season, Old Crescent and Thomond fly the flag in 2B. The Rosbrien side, most peopleโs favourites for a second successive promotion, face Greystones, while Thomond travel to Wanderers. In Division 2C, Bruff face Boyne in Killballyowen.
In the Guinness Pro12, Munster are unbackable favourites to defeat the Dragons on Saturday at 5.15pm in Rodney Parade. Rassie Erasmusโ is likely to call on Conor Murray and Keith Earls for the potential five pointer, following last weekendโs loss to Cardiff in Musgrave Park.
