THE latest creation by Moyross Community Drama, working with the GAFF resource centre, is โFive Housesโ. From GAFF board member Monica Spencer, we hear that โFive Housesโ is โa dramatic response to the crises of displacement and home that pervade our news every day. The distress of families and individuals at home and across the globe affects each one of usโ.
Members of MCD have created solo pieces based on the themes of displacement, belonging, community, houses and home.
Building on these individual pieces of writing, the group has developed a new theatre piece with director Naomi OโKelly leading.
โCast members Carrie Barrett, Lucia Brunetti, Majella Conway, Sheila Fitzpatrick-OโDonnell, Ger Purcell and Leanne OโDonnell have created a unique response to one of the challenging issues facing humanity, that of finding a home and keeping itโ.
You can view โFive Housesโ from Monday 24 to Thursday 27, 8pmย atย local centre Respond! in Moyross, eircode V94 NNX4. โฌ5 at door.
Funding for production costs has come from the JP McManus Benevolent Fund, Regeneration, Limerick Arts Office, LCETB and the Community Foundation of Ireland.
GAFF continues to fundraise for its arts projects, working with all ages and ethnicities, through events and sponsorship appeals.
