LIMERICKโ€™S Slow Riot have plied their trade in bone rattling fuzzy indie since the winter of 2013. Early singles โ€˜City of Cultureโ€™ and โ€˜Trophy Wifeโ€™ have impressed as well as 2015โ€™s well received โ€˜Cathedralโ€™ EP.

New single โ€˜Absent Dreamsโ€™ arrived this autumn, with a string of live dates, including a special London show at the Sebright Arms. โ€˜Absent Dreamsโ€™ is the bandโ€™s first new release since the acclaimed โ€˜Trophy Wifeโ€™ single in April, and their first since signing to London label Killing Moon Records.

Lyricist Niall Clancy explains the origins of โ€˜Absent Dreamsโ€™

โ€œAbsent Dreams is about reaching the realisation that those who affect your life negatively donโ€™t need to be tolerated. Itโ€™s about looking for reasons to hold onto the past and not finding anyโ€.

Slow Riot has developed from its early Joy Division/Interpol influences to forging its own dark dynamic pop. Best experienced at volume with an open mind in a dark red room.

Check out Slow Riot when they play Kasbah Social Club, Dolanโ€™s this Saturday November 12.
