#musiclimerick #live – Slow Riot

slow-riotLIMERICK’S Slow Riot have plied their trade in bone rattling fuzzy indie since the winter of 2013. Early singles ‘City of Culture’ and ‘Trophy Wife’ have impressed as well as 2015’s well received ‘Cathedral’ EP.

New single ‘Absent Dreams’ arrived this autumn, with a string of live dates, including a special London show at the Sebright Arms. ‘Absent Dreams’ is the band’s first new release since the acclaimed ‘Trophy Wife’ single in April, and their first since signing to London label Killing Moon Records.

Lyricist Niall Clancy explains the origins of ‘Absent Dreams’

“Absent Dreams is about reaching the realisation that those who affect your life negatively don’t need to be tolerated. It’s about looking for reasons to hold onto the past and not finding any”.

Slow Riot has developed from its early Joy Division/Interpol influences to forging its own dark dynamic pop. Best experienced at volume with an open mind in a dark red room.
