LEADERS in the fields of sport politics and business will take centre stage at the annual Shannon Chamber President’s luncheon on December 6 next.

Limerick TD and current Minister of State for Tourism and Sport will be joined by Tipperary hurling boss Michael Ryan and Sean Flannery, GM at GECAS when the trio take to the stage on Tuesday, 6 December in Dromoland Castle Hotel.

Broadcaster and educator Séamus Hennessy, will interview the three men on the trials and tribulations associated with leadership.

The lunch, which is being sponsored by GECAS and supported by Chamber members Snap Limerick, Career Decisions Ireland, Willis Towers Watson and Fáilte Ireland, is a departure from the norm and a format which should be well received by the business and sporting communities.

As Shannon Chamber’s chief executive Helen Downes explains: “Leadership is such a topical issue at the moment that we decided it might be a very worthwhile undertaking to invite three people who have demonstrated great leadership traits to share their views on what it takes to attain great wins. It’s quite a departure from our normal keynote speaker format but we believe it’s exactly what our members need at this time of year and should generate lively rapport among the panel and the audience.

“We are certainly looking forward to gaining some new insights as I’m sure all of our members and their guests are too. It’s a rare opportunity to hear what it takes to lead and win in the very different environments of sport, politics and business.”

Bookings are still being taken for the lunch, which runs from 12.30pm until 2.30pm on Tuesday, 6 December 2016 – www.shannonchamber.ie/events-training/
