DUBLIN grunge popย bandย Otherkin came together in 2013 through a love of The Clash, QOTSA and The Ramones.
The band played the college circuit and anywhere in Dublin that would have them.
Nothing unusual there for any young band but what Otherkin have is songs, damn bloody good songs too. โAy Ayโ from 2015 is an indie anthem, and the quality has risen since then with the โThe New Viceโ EP featuring โYeah, I Knowโ and โI was Bornโ.
The band is making waves in the UK with festival appearances and radio support from Annie Mac (BBC Radio 1) and John Kennedy (Radio X). MTV Rocks added Otherkin videos to new music playlists.
โWe want our records to be punchy, lean and blazing. Straight in, no kissing,โ is Otherkinโs statement of intent.
Mission accomplished so far, says Clash Magazine (โuproarious, hugely infectious songwritingโ), NME Magazine (โtheyโll blaze a helter-skelter trailโ) and Gigslutz (โcould be the most exciting new band of the yearโ).
Otherkin play Kasbah Social Club this Saturday January 21.
