Wallis Bird comes home

NOW based in Berlin, the two-time Meteor Awards winner singer/songwriter Wallis Bird released her new album ‘Home’ in September. The record is self produced at her home studio with a little help from  long-term collaborator and producer Marcus Wuest (Get Well Soon).

‘Home’ is a  joyous celebration of friendship  and is deservedly on the Choice Music Prize album shortlist for 2016, incorporating downtempo electronic, folk, R’n’B, gospel and Sean Nós – a remarkable kaleidoscope of musical delights cheerfully defying  categorization.

Wallis describes the album as a record celebrating a “blueprint to this great life and musical plan I was hatching – girl meets girl, girl falls in love and happy ending ensues. ‘Home’ is the happy ending.”

Wallis Bird begins her extensive 40 date European tour in her home country playing Dolan’s this Saturday January 21. www.dolans.ie
