LIMERICK Literary Festival, Thursday February 23 to Sunday 26, will see our French Honorary Consul Marie Hackett deliver a tribute to the late, great French novelist Michel Déon.
A literary columnist and prolific author, Deon published more than 50 works and was the recipient of numerous awards, including the Prix Interallié for his 1970 novel, Les Poneys Sauvages. Marie, herself a stalwart of this festival that honours Kate O’Brien’s legacy, will make her presentation at Limerick Art Gallery on Saturday 25 at 1pm.
