A STRONG new opportunity for young amateurs and professionals in performing arts in the Mid West to upskill beckons from the grounds of University of Limerick.

Leading Edge Project launches at the Irish Chamber Orchestra studio on north campus this Summer under the direction of actor Zachary Morris. Workshops to train further in theatre, musical theatre and any other acting platform is the mission and Morris is well qualified to lead.

His own West End credits include โ€˜The Secret Gardenโ€™, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Spring Awakening and โ€˜Rocky Horrorโ€™.

โ€œWe will be producing another of our incredible week-long theatre workshop led by our creative team of West End performers,โ€ he tells Limerick Post.

โ€œWe run workshops in London and the UK,โ€ explains Zachary Morris. โ€˜This June the Leading Edge โ€˜L.E.A.Psโ€™ across the pond and launches in Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York.

โ€œThrough the medium of expressive arts it is our mission to create a safe and brave space for young people to share their gifts with the world. They are led by our diverse team of Leading Edge creatives, artists from all over the world โ€“ performers from the Royal Ballet to musical theatre, from composers and award winning writers to visual artists.โ€
