THE name Nik Kershaw is synonymous with the Eighties. โWouldnโt It Be Goodโ spent five weeks at No.4 in the charts in 1984. The Bristol born singer/songwriter/guitarist became a hit across Europe and Japan with his album โHuman Racingโ and further hits โI Wonโt Let The Sun Go Downโ and โThe Riddleโ.
1985 saw three hit singles, tours of Europe, Canada, Australia, the States and Japan and an appearance at Live Aid.
He left the spotlight in 1989 to focus on songwriting and production penning โThe One and Onlyโ for Chesney Hawkes. He has collaborated with Cliff Richard, Bonnie Tyler, Lulu, Ronan Keating, Jason Donovan and Elton John.
An Evening With Nik Kershaw will be a chance for fans to hear all the hits and more in an intimate acoustic setting with three screen projections to illustrate the music.
It is Nik onstage with a guitar and a microphone and a few video screens, telling tall tales and playing a few tunes and having fun. He even take questions from the audience in the show. And what has been the best question asked so far?
โIt has to be โwho would win in a fight? Nik Kershaw or Howard Jones?โโ he laughs.
More on Nik Kershaw in next week’s Limerick Post.
Maybe the Limerick audience will come up with even funnier enquiries when Nik plays University Concert Hall on Friday October 6.
