#BREAKING Disaster at Limerick petrol station averted after car blaze

FIREFIGHTERS in Limerick averted a major disaster this evening when a car caught fire at the Amber service station on the Old Cork Road.

Units from the Limerick Fire and Rescue service were quickly on the scene to extinguish the blaze that threatened to cause widespread damage when the car was engulfed by flames next to a petrol pump.

Shortly after 6:30pm the fire had been brought under control and fire crews remained at the service station to ensure the scene remained safe.
