Limerick homes evacuated after explosives found

The army bomb disposal unit were called to Limerick this evening.

A number of houses were evacuated in Limerick City earlier today after two viable explosive devices were discovered at Roxboro Road.

Gardaí and the army bomb disposal team were called to Flanker Court in Glasgow Park around 4pm.

The devices were removed to a secure military location for further examination and the scene was declared safe at 5.45pm.

Gardaí at Roxboro Road are investigating the incident.
