LIMERICK city fire and rescue came to the aid of two teenage girls on Tuesday night after they were caught stranded under a Limerick bridge as the tidal waters began to rise.
Responding to the call, emergency services arrived to the Metal Bridge near Long Pavement when the alarm was raised shortly after 9pm.
The two girls had been walking in the area and became trapped as the tide began to come in.

Three units from Limerick city fire and rescue, as well as rescue boat FireSwift were sent to the scene and rescued the two girls by bringing them to Barrington’s Quay and awaiting emergency paramedics but they did not require hospitalisation.
