After the heroics of the Limerick senior hurlers, all will be returning to their clubs this week with a full round of hurling in the SHC, Premier IHC and IHC.
On Wednesday, there will be a further three games in the senior football championship as the groups begin to take shape as we head towards the knockout stage.
Group 2: In Kilmallock, Newcastle West take on Oola at 6.30pm. NCW have maximum points from three games but are in second place behind the impressive St Kierans who defeated Oola on Saturday to maintain their 100% record. Newcastle are guaranteed their place in the knockout stages but will be looking to join St Kierans on eight points ahead of their final day showdown. Oola on the other hand are rooted to the bottom of the table and have failed to pick up a point thus far. They face St Pats in their final game knowing that failure to pick up points over the next couple of games will see them into the relegation final.
Elsewhere in Group 2 on Wednesday evening, Ballysteen take on St Patricks in Croagh. Ballysteen lie on two points and know a win will see them face Fr Caseys on the final day with the winner advancing to the knockout stages. However, a loss will see them pulled into relegation trouble. St Patricks need two victories from their final brace of games to have any hope of progression but will be heavily aided by the return of Gearoid Hegarty. This game throws in at 6.45pm.
In Group 1, Adare will hope to continue their impressive winning streak against Na Piarsaigh in Clarina. Adare are guaranteed passage to the knockout stages and one win from their final two games will see them straight through to the semi-final stages. They play St Senans in their final game. Na Piarsaigh, are bottom of the table and have only picked up a solitary point thus far. Yet, two wins from their remaining games could be enough to see them into the quarter finals. Throw in at Clarina is 6.30pm.
