Limerick Junior Golf Club
Intercounty Event at Tipperary GC Sat 6th Oct
Limerick GC were represented by Lucas Lyons, Eoin O’Callaghan and Fintan O’Kelly last Sat in a 7 boy selected team to represent Limerick, in an Intercounty U-13/U-14 Event run by Munster Golf with the idea of viewing talent for the future.
7 Teams took part over 16 holes ,with the best 5 net scores from each team to count.
The Limerick Team managed by Pat O’Brien of Adare Manor GC had a great afternoon , finishing 2nd, just two points behind winners Waterford, with Lucas producing one of the best scores of the day , 36 pts.
Junior Matchplay Championship
Luka Novakovic, who has had a very good season, was the victor in an evenly fought final against Shane Barry recently , winning on the 1st tie hole. The Championship trophy sponsored by Mike Kemmy, Stone Craft, will be presented to Luka on Sat 20th Oct at a prizegiving event at the Club.
Golfer of the Year
A final event Sponsored by Calor Gas, to determine this years Junior Golfer of the year , will be held on Sat 20th Oct from 2pm, followed by a meal and presentation of Prizes. The Golfer of the year Trophy , sponsored by Grant Thornton , will also be presented on the night. Lucas Lyons heads the table by 5 points over this years Junior captain Daniel Quilligan, with Luka Novakovic in close persuit just one point further back. All those interested in playing on 20th , are encourages to book on the Team App as soon as possible.
Limerick GC Host an Irish Internationl match between Ireland and England on Sat and Sun 13th & 14th Oct respectively , starting at 8am each day. Anyone interested in watching the best junior golfers in the Country should take the opportunity to visit Ballyclough this w/e.
