A very special evening celebrating the life of the late Neville Furlong took place at the Castletroy Park hotel last weekend in aid of Milford Hospice.

Family, friends and colleagues of the Ireland and Garryowen player who tragically passed away last year gathered at the special fundraiser on Saturday 13 evening.

Around 275 guests supported the fundraiser which began with friends and family catching up at the prosecco and mojito drinks reception at 7pm followed by dinner afterwards in the ballroom.

Here Neville’s wife Trish thanked everyone for their wonderful support over the last few years and for supporting the event in aid of Milford Hospice.

Irish Time rugby journalist and friend Liam Toland hosted the fundraiser which was an emotional mix of laughter and tears as everyone shared their memories of Neville and there was a moving montage of Neville’s life screened at the event.

Liam spoke with friends of Neville’s from Limerick such as Philip Danagher, Richard Costello, Ollie Moran, Richard Clifford and also friends from Wexford Wanderers who all shared fantastic memories of the much loved sportsman and family man. Afterwards there was music from Irish singer songwriter Luka Bloom and the band Free Beer.

The evening raised an incredible €17,000 which will now go to Milford Hospice in Neville’s honour.
