Tom’s acting career takes flight

LIMERICK TD Tom Neville will have his head in the clouds for the coming weeks as his fledgeling acting career takes full flight, literally.

The West Limerick politician, who also dabbles in acting, stars in a new short film ‘Colour of Forgiveness’, which is now showing on Aer Lingus transatlantic flights through the busy festive season right through to the end of January.

The film was fully produced in Limerick and sees the Government TD star in the leading role along co-star actress and comedian Christina McMahon. Scenes in the film include Neville’s Cross, Kilfinny, before its refurbishment, and John Street in Limerick City.

‘Colour of Forgiveness’ is a drama written, produced and directed by Dawid Gral, shot by Steve Hall, who recently struck a worldwide sales deal for his horror film ‘Nightshift’, and edited by Patryk Czekalski. Patrick Mulcahy produces music for the film.

The film has been nominated for awards at The Richard Harris International Film Festival, Limerick Film Festival and The Russian International Film Festival. The dramatic plot of the film is inspired by a true story.

Tom (Neville) is jilted at the altar by Maria (McMahon) on the day of their wedding. Weeks later they meet again with Maria explaining why she had to do such a horrible thing. It examines the fundamentals of a relationship that even with the best of intentions can often be doomed.

A trained actor with a Masters in Music Technology, Neville was shortlisted in 2015 for an award at the Richard Harris International Film Festival in the One Minute Monologue category. He was nominated for his rousing performance in the role of heroin addict Mark Renton, made famous by movie star Ewan McGregor in the 1996 movie ‘Trainspotting’.

Also showing on Aer Lingus transatlantic flights this month is the comedy ‘B-Day’ starring Limerick actors Kevin Kiely Jnr and Richie Ryan.
