Mary Immaculate cruise into Fitzgibbon Cup quarter finals

Mary Immaculate College breezed past Maynooth and into the Fitzgibbon quarter finals this afternoon by beating their opponents 1-22 to 0-12.

That made it two wins from their two games for Jamie Wall’s side. Led by the impressive Colin Guilfoyle, Mary I led by 1-13 to 0-6 at half time.

Guilfoyle bagged 1-2 for himself in the space of three minutes and after that scoring blitz there was no way back for Maynooth.

Aaron Gillane also helped himself to 0-6, while Colin O’Brien, Michael O’Loughlin and Thomas Monaghan also impressed for Mary I.

LIT have also qualified for the knockout stages after winning their first two games. They complete their games in the group stage with a home fixture against Trinity College.
