THE award winning Limerick Musical Society returned for their much awaited Spring production ‘Sister Act’ which ran for three nights at UCH. The musical, which is based on the 90s’ movie, went down a treat with audiences in Limerick who thoroughly enjoyed the tale of aspiring singer Deloris who ends up in witness protection within a convent.

Under the direction of Des Henn, musical director Elaine Davern and choreographer Amanda Kearns, Limerick Musical Society brought the story of Deloris’ life changing and often hilarious experiences with the convent’s struggling choir to the stage.

This was complemented brilliantly by the uplifting score including songs like ‘Sister Act’, ‘Take Me to Heaven’, ‘Fabulous Baby’ and lots more. ‘Sister Act’ also boasted a fantastic line up of talent including Alison Kearney as Deloris, Barry Danaher as Eddie, Hilary Phayer as Mother Superior, Kate McBrearty as Sr. Mary Patrick, Danielle Farrell as Sr. Mary Lazarus,  Hannah Doogan as Sr. Mary Robert, Jason Ronan as Curtis, Patrick Woulfe as Joey,  Adam Skeff as TJ,  James Malone as Pablo,  Glen Carr as Tiny  and Brian Henry as Monsignor O’ Hara. The cast were supported by the hugely talented chorus line and a fantastic band. Standing ovations were in order every night, which delighted Limerick Musical Society.
