Sponsored: Election profile – Brian Leddin, Green Party

1. Tell us about your background?

I grew up on the North Circular Road, son of Tim and Kathleen Leddin, and went to JFK primary school,  on to Árdscoil Rís and then University of Limerick. There I completed a degree in engineering. I went on to study a Masters degree in Renewable Energy Systems Technology.

I live on Clancy Strand with Ester and work for a consulting engineering firm in the city centre. I rowed with St Michael’s Rowing Club and now coach with the club.

In the last 10 years I helped to establish and develop a number of local organisations that seek to improve our city: Liveable Limerick, An Taisce Limerick, Limerick Riverpath Volunteers and Limerick Cycling Campaign.

2. What do you hope to achieve if elected?

I AM standing with the Green Party for the Local Elections held on May 24. I feel I can make a real contribution to Limerick City and County Council.

My vision for Limerick city in 10 – 15 years is of a thriving, attractive and well planned European city with an efficient, ambitious and responsible Council. I believe I have the skillset, experience and commitment to help us get there and the national clout of the Green Party in support.

3. The best reason for someone to give you their vote?

WITH your support, I will make a good councillor for Limerick City North. I am dedicated to Limerick and making it a great place to live and have already contributed very significantly in this regard. I will continue to work towards these goals and will seek to work with people across the political spectrum to put the interests of Limerick first.

Please vote your No. 1 Vote for Brian Leddin, Green Party.
