METAL bands Behemoth and Amon Amarth rocked King John’s Castle on Monday night in front of a huge crowd who were treated to two loud and epic shows all played in a positive, party atmosphere in the setting sun over the Shannon river.

Swedish metal band Amon Amarth walked onstage at the ancient viking site at King John’s Castle to reclaim Limerick for just one night to party with us. And that’s exactly what Limerick got. Pyrotechnics, smoke, viking warriors doing battle on stage and a tribal and rousing metal show playing tracks from new record ‘Berserker’ and big hands in the air anthems Twilight of the Thunder God and Raise Your Horns.

The party continued across the city as the large crowd dispersed downtown and to an AfterParty held in Dolan’s.
