Boys’ Choir of St Patrick’s Cathedral

At St Mary's Cathedral for mid summer night, Friday 21 at 7.30pm.

EXPECTATIONS have soared soprano high for St Maryโ€™s Cathedral mid-summer eve concert, welcoming The Choir of St Patrickโ€™s Cathedral this Friday 21 at 7.30pm. A most beautiful programme is planned by the boysโ€™ choir master and organist Mr Stuart Nicholson, and soloists Jeffrey Ledwidge and Eoghan Desmond are confirmed.

All the choristers are educated at the Cathedral Choir School, est. 1432. This boysโ€™ choir, deemed by their peers to be the best in the land, tour annually and France, Denmark, Britain and Sweden have hosted them thus far.

The first half of the concert has works by William Walton, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Cรฉsar Franck and Flor Peeters. Act two will feature Benjamin Brittenโ€™s โ€˜Te Deum in Cโ€™ with soloist Matthew Antochi; Charles Villiers Stanfordโ€™s โ€˜Beati quorum viaโ€™ and again Brittenโ€™s renowned โ€˜Rejoice in the lambโ€™. For this joyful classic, soloists Davide Antochi, Jonathan Lycett, Ernest Dines and Jeffrey Ledwidge will each have parts.
