LIMERICKโS internationally trained opera star Sarah Dolan will join the military bands and pipes of the Defence Forces at University Concert Hall this Saturday June 22 at 8pm.ย This annual Summer Proms promises an upbeat and visually rich evening ofย opera, musical numbers and rousing military-band tunes.
Sarah Dolan has a Masters in Music from the San Francisco Conservatory and is a recipient of the Thomas Moore Vocal Bursary.
“I was delighted to be asked to perform with the military bands and pipes of the Defence Forces under the baton of Captain Brian Prendergast,” Sarah tells Limerick Post. “I performed with them at the Proms in the Park in 2014 and it was a fantastic concert. I love the programme, it has something for everyone.
“I am so looking forward to performing with them again at the University Concert Hall this weekend!
โI will be singing some arias, โI Dreamt I Dwelt in Marble Hallsโ from The Bohemian Girl by Balfe, โEbben nโandro Lontanaโ from La Wally by Catalani and โO mio Babbino Caro. I will also be singingย some classical musical theatre pieces, โCanโt help Lovin dat Manโ from Showboat, โYouโll Never Walk Aloneโ from Carousel and โI Could have Danced All Nightโ from My Fair Lady.โ
