GARDAI have launched an investigation after a man was hospitalised with stab wounds this Monday afternoon.
The emergency services were called to a shop in Mallow street after the injured man staggered in and staff raised the alarm.
The victim – who is in his 20’s – has been taken to UHL and gardai have arrested a man.
Gardaí at Henry Street in the city are investigating the incident, which occurred shortly before 4pm this afternoon in an apartment at River Point Apartments, off Mallow Street in Limerick.
Garda arrested the man on the Dock Road shortly after the stabbing was reported. He is being questioned at Henry Street Garda Station.
A forensic team have sealed off the area around the apartment to carry out an examination.
