Painting pets en plein air – today

Canvas by Brian MacMahon, known for rugged land and seascapes.

MORE skits and giggles going on at The Hunt, where the Lavery & Osborne joint exhibition continues into September 30.

This Thursday 8, the riverside garden there welcomes influential Limerick painters in a summery exercise. Michael Collins, Geraldine Sadlier and Brian MacMahon tell us that they “are using their skills … painting pets for Pet Plein Air. Everyone, budding or professional artist, young and old is invited to join them. We start at 4.30pm and go on until the light fades.”

Grand masters Sir John Lavery and Walter Frederick Osborne were up for the same craic, joining with the external mode introduced by the Antwerp school of art.
