Patrickswellโ€™s hopes of regaining the Limerick SHC title have taken a huge blow with the news that star forward Aaron Gillane could miss the remainder of the season with a jaw injury.

Gillane suffered the injury during Patrickswellโ€™s draw with Kilmalllock at the LIT Gaelic Grounds on Friday night, a game in which he scored 0-13.

Patrickswell manager Ciarรกn Carey confirmed to Sporting Limerick that Gillane has broken his jaw in two places and will have it operated on this Thursday.

As a result, Gillaneโ€™s participation for the rest of the season is in serious doubt. Itโ€™s a huge blow to a Patrickswell side that are unbeaten in this yearโ€™s Championship. They play Doon in their final game of the group stage on August 31st.
