LIMERICK Senator Kieran OโDonnell has been advised by Bus รireann that school bus tickets are now issuing to pupils from the greater East Limerick areas of Caherconlish, Ballyneety, Balybricken and Fedamore attending John the Baptist Secondary School in Hospital.ย
Education Minister Joe McHugh andย his Department haveย worked with Bus รireann to ensure provision of these necessary schoolย bus places.ย This follows lengthy representations from Senator OโDonnell to Education Minister Joe McHugh and Bus รireann.ย ย
โI am delighted that after a longย campaignย with parents and the School, Bus Eireann haveย informed me that they are now issuing bus place tickets to pupils from the greater East Limerick areas of Caherconlish, Ballyneety, Balybricken and Fedamore attendingย the local St. John the Baptist secondary school in Hospital.ย
ย โThis will come as a great sense of relief to pupils and their parents knowing that they have school bus tickets in place before the start of the school term.ย I know from dealing with the parents over the last number of years the severeย anxiety this caused.ย
ย โI have been working consistentlyย on reaching a solution to this specificย school transport issue for St John the Baptist Secondary School, Hospital for the last year and held numerous meetings withย Bus Eireann,ย parents, the School andย Education Minister Joe McHugh to progress this important matter. Particularly, I was adamant that families would not have to deal with any further uncertainty around this issue.ย
โI wish to thank Education Minister Joe McHugh andย his officials for their work with Bus รireannย in finding a solution here and also pay particular compliment to Arlene Gleeson of the parents association, John the Baptist Secondary Schoolย andย the local Bus รireannย school transport staff who have worked tirelessly on this importantย matter.ย
