PLANNING permission has been granted for a  new €12 million Primary Care Centre medical facility for Newcastle West.

Welcoming the decision, Minister of State Patrick O’Donovan said the centre will not only provide first-class primary care services to the West Limerick town and surrounding areas, but will also bring diagnostic services and treatments closer to the patient.

Minister O’Donovan said, “This building on the site of the former Pallas Foods chicken processing factor will not only house a GP clinic, but will also include HSE primary care services and diagnostic facilities including radiology and ultrasound.

“The new will accommodate Tusla and provide occupational therapy, dentistry, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services.” There will also be a cafe and a pharmacy.
