The CD includes a number of songs from Unity Gospel Choir as well as a song performed by 17-year-old Chloe O’Halloran.

“We recorded ‘Love Shine a Light’, and we are giving all the proceeds to Pieta House,” said Gretta McCormack-O’Shea, founder of the Unity Gospel Choir.

Gretta said the group felt it would be a good idea to help “keep the existing services going”. The Katrina and The Waves song was chosen as the group sing it every year at the ‘Darkness Into Light’ walk.

Sponsors of the CD gathered at Maggi Choo’s for the press launch on Wednesday, October 23.

Speaking at the launch, Councillor James Collins encouraged the people of Limerick to support a cause “so close to everybody’s heart.”

The official launch of “Love Shine a Light” will take place Monday, November 11 in Maggi Choo’s, with all proceeds going to Pieta House.
