LIMERICK composer Paddy Mulcahy will release his new album โHow To Disappearโ this Friday November 15.
From his early experimental Drum n Bass tracks to his emotive compositions on piano and lush recordings on synthesizer, Paddy Mulcahyโs music has featured in Cannes Film Festival, Newport Beach Festival and London Fashion Week.
His releases on Spotify reach across the globe, close to 100 countries and growing daily.
โHow To Disappearโ is a tour de force in ethereal and emotional electronic soundscapes.
The music on the album, in some ways, rolls back the years to his early forays in electronic music. Beside the atmospheric title track and emotional solo piano pieces you will hear pulsing electronica and even a jungle track.
A kind of coming full circle, but not back to where it all began? … We suggest to Paddy.
โThe writing process and the workflow is totally different. Iโm playing all analogue instruments and synthesizers, pianos, all real instruments as opposed to โall in the boxโ plug-ins and midi controllers that would have been the body of โEnter Morningโ for example.โ
A listen to his eight progressive record releases on paddymulcahy.bandcamp.com/ provides perfect signposts to his musical evolution.
Fair to say then that โHow To Disappearโ is a matured, better informed, more educated, more thoughtful revisit to the electronic stuff.
Paddyโs record label Phases releases ambient/modern classical music. The new LP will be pressed on recycled vinyl and every copy will have a uniquely different colour.
โIโve seen green, blue and white records so far.โ
To press โHow To Disappearโ on vinyl, Paddy and his label made a decision to extend the album to two discs, in sympathy with the flow of the music.
โThe label has been absolutely brilliant, they are really flexible and understanding.โ
Paddy will be working on an exciting new project in 2020 and will perform โHow To Disappearโ at Other Voices music festival in Dingle (Nov30) .
