OVER €1 million has been allocated to homeowners in Limerick city and county so far this year as part of the Government’s range of energy efficiency grants.

Allocations totalling €1,076,699 have been issued in the form of home energy grants to householders this year under the Better Energy Homes Scheme, Warmer Homes Scheme, and Warmth and Wellbeing Pilot Scheme initiatives to upgrade properties, making them warmer and more energy efficient.

“These homes, retrofitted to suit the homeowners circumstances and scale of work they wish to undertake, make a real meaningful difference to people and to the environment. Since the introduction of these grants nearly 400,000 homes across the country have received an upgrade,” Limerick Fine Gael Senator Maria Byrne said.
