DUBLIN duo Mango X Mathman are a force of nature in a live setting. Their mix of grime, rave and hip hop and tall tales of life in Dublin caught the imagination in early releases ‘The Wheel Up’ EP in 2017, ‘Badman’ and the ‘No Surrender’ FM singles.
Their ‘Other Voices’ shows in Dingle were a riot of rabble rousing and breakbeats and packed to the rafters. The new album ‘Casual Work’ was three years in the making, the rapper and producer pushing their creative and musical boundaries to make one of the year’s finest albums – a mature and compelling piece of work deservedly nominated for a Choice Music Prize. Lisa Hannigan and Loah guest on vocals on a record that could be Dublin’s answer to Original Pirate Material.
