New album from Trampoline Star marks a quality return for the Woodstar kid

TRAMPOLINE Star is the music project of Limerick songwriter Alan Sheahan.

The new 12 track LP was written, produced and engineered by Alan with a couple of tracks written in collaboration with his former bandmates, Fin Chambers and Doug Murray of celebrated Limerick band Woodstar who signed to Parlophone and recorded a debut album (Life Sparks) with Stephen Street in the early 00’s.

Same Kid, Different Day is the first official release for Alan since Woodstar. The album was recorded in his home studio over the last four years, with on-line contributions from many musicians on both sides of the Atlantic.

Alan told Limerick Post that the project took most of his spare time to complete.
“I wanted to make sure I was happy with it so there was no time frame involved. That said, it took every minute of my spare time in those four years to get it over the line!”

The lush production features cameos from some of Limerick’s finest musicians, Dave Keary, Jenny McMahon, Jane Fraser and Sean Harrold to name just a few of the contributors.

The album is a collection of dreamlike pop songs with an alt-country flavour all delivered in an unhurried fashion. The sweet melodies are wrapped in layers of quality musicianship developing the song arrangements with generous outros on ‘These Days’ and ‘Waltzing Away’.
Jane Fraser takes lead on vocals on the sentimental ‘Less I Have You’ as the album continues its gentle flow with the lullaby blues of ‘Rock Me’.

Same Kid, Different Day may not be a party starter but it is a gorgeous soft landing for the morning after. A wonderful listen.
