Gardaí appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in County Limerick

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision near O’Rourke’s Cross on the N20 on Tuesday, May 26.

A Garda spokesman said officers attended “the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a truck that occurred Tuesday 26th May 2020 at approximately12.30pm on the N20 near Lackanagrour in Co. Limerick”.

“The driver of the car, a male in his early 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was taken to University Hospital Limerick as a precaution.”

The road was closed for several hours allowing Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the collision scene.

“Gardaí in Bruff are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward and for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time of the collision to make it available to Gardaí,” the spokesman said.
