Cabin theft in Castletroy

LOCAL builders are being reminded to secure their construction sites properly, following the theft of a prefabricated cabin from a building site in Castletroy last week.

Limerick Garda Crime Prevention Officer Sgt Ber Leetch said that the site had been locked for the night but the following morning the builders discovered the chains cut from the gate and a porta cabin taken.

“This was a big operation when you consider the size of the cabin and the machinery required to move it.

“We want to highlight the importance of good security at a building site now that tools and building machinery are is great demand and the criminals can be very organised. Information on how to secure property is available on the Garda website garda.ie”, Sgt Leetch advised.
