IRISH rugby union player Ben Betts has retired at the age of 23.
Betts, who most recently played for Doncaster Knights, has stepped away from the game to return to full-time employment in Ireland.
Doncaster Knights released a statement last week confirming they had agreed to let the prop end his contract with the club. Betts joined the club just last month, and had yet to feature for them.
In a statement on the clubโs website, Head Coach Steve Boden said:
โIt is disappointing to lose Ben for the upcoming season but we respect his decision and wish him every success for the future as he moves away from full time professional rugby.โ
