LIMERICK songwriter and front man of Toucandance and The Flag Listeners is working on a new album for TFL and finding some time to complete a solo project.
Birdsong is the first single from the forthcoming solo album, a wonderful reflection on the first weeks of Covid-19 lockdown, the balmy days as the natural world found the space to reemerged as the population stayed off the streets.
Eamonn says,
“In a period when we were all experiencing that unsettling sensation inside and a silence and weirdness worthy of the best science fiction, the unexpected Mediterranean sunshine and the balm of birdsong were never more welcome. That’s where the song, Birdsong, came from.“
Birdsong also features Dave Keary playing a baratone guitar solo and James Hanley on electric piano and bass, both locking down some fabulous hazy Summer vibes for the track.
