Bottom Dog’s second reading this September – The Party by Jane Arden

AFTER a long awaited return to the Belltable stage, Limerick’s award winning Bottom Dog Theatre Company continue their 12th annual season of rehearsed readings FOUR PARTY PLAYS, for a social distanced audience each Thursday this September at 8pm.
Their second play THE PARTY by Jane Arden was a ground-breaking and innovative play of the 1950s, particularly for its daring exploration of mental illness and its effects on family dynamics.
As esteemed actor and director Simon Callow said, ‘The play actually anticipates a great deal of mid-sixties drama on the subject of society’s imposition of conformity.
Returning for her third rehearsed reading by Bottom Dog, Limerick’s Tara Doolan leads another superb cast for this, Bottom Dog’s 46th staged reading to date, and is another night to put in your diary and get back to enjoying live theatre at Belltable.
