LIMERICK defender Mike Casey could miss the 2020 Intercounty Championship following what was described as a “serious” knee injury.

The injury happened during a challenge game against Galway at the LIT Gaelic Grounds and the Na Piarsaigh club man is awaiting a scan to determine the full extend of the damage.

Any potential layoff for Casey would represent a serious blow to John Kiely’s defensive line as Richie English is already recovering from a similar injury sustained earlier in the year.

More details to follow after John Kiely’s press briefing later this evening.
